Keeping Our Entrance Green: Irrigation Updates and Drought Response
The front entrance of our community is the first thing neighbors and guests see, and we are committed to keeping it looking its best while remaining responsible stewards of our local water resources. We have several important updates regarding recent maintenance and new state-mandated water restrictions.
Recent Maintenance and Enhancements
To ensure our landscaping stays vibrant through the heat, we recently completed a series of targeted repairs to the front entrance irrigation system. This work included:
- Nozzle Upgrades: Peachtree Sprinkler Etc. replaced 5 irrigation nozzles that were not operating.
- Precision Watering: Several irrigation heads were adjusted to better target the flower beds, ensuring that our seasonal blooms receive the hydration they need without wasting water on the sidewalk or pavement.
Level 1 Drought Response Declaration
Last week, the HOA received an official notification from Coweta Water and Sewage. The Georgia Environmental Protection Division (EPD) has issued a Level 1 Drought Response Declaration for our area.
In response to this declaration and to ensure we are in full compliance with local and state regulations, the HOA is taking the following actions:
- Rain Sensor Installation: Under the current mandate, all irrigation systems are required to have an operating rain sensor. We have scheduled Peachtree Sprinklers to visit the property soon to install a new rain sensor, which will automatically shut off the system during and after rainfall to prevent unnecessary watering.
- Restricted Watering Hours: We are adhering to the Level 1 outdoor water use schedules. Our normal scheduled watering hours for the front entrance is around 6AM to 7AM. We are in compliance with the drought restrictions of limiting all irrigation activity to the hours between 4:00 PM and 10:00 AM.
We appreciate your support as we work to maintain our community’s curb appeal while doing our part to conserve water during this dry spell. If you have any questions regarding these updates, please feel free to reach out to the HOA Board.
