Greetings Harris Estates Homeowners,
We are halfway through our Georgia winter and we have had some pretty cold spells this year with two snows! Here are a few updates for the neighborhood.
HOLIDAY DECORATIONS
I just wanted to give a special thanks to our HOA President Greg Adams. He took on the project of getting new holiday decorations for the front entrance. The price of the red bows was way to expensive. So he purchased the ribbon, watched a YouTube video, and made every single red bow by himself for the front entrance. This project took him hours and hours. He organized all the garland into sections, labelling them and the fence. HOA Secretary Erik assisted him in getting all the decorations up to make our neighborhood entrance look amazing for the holidays. Homeowner David Crisp generously volunteered to store all the decorations for the year.
TOM WEATHERFORD MEMORIAL PLAQUE
As you may remember, the Tom Weatherford memorial tree did not make it due to the lack of sunshine. The HOA recently returned the memorial plaque back to Mrs. Wendy Weatherford. She expressed her gratitude in remembering her husband Tom Weatherford. Tom and Wendy Weatherford were among the first homeowners in the Harris Estates neighborhood in 2008. Tom Weatherford served on the HOA Board as Vice President in 2014. He passed away on September 23, 2014 and is buried in Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Newnan.
HOA BOARD ELECTIONS
New elections will be held at the end of the year for HOA Board positions of President, Treasurer, and Secretary. President Greg Adams is eligible to serve another two terms. Treasurer Chris Flournoy has declined to run for Treasurer for 2025-2026. Secretary Erik Swindlehurst is eligible to serve one more term. If you are interested in serving on the Board or are interested in learning what is involved, please let us know.
2025 HOA DUES
The Annual HOA Dues are due March 1st, 2025. The amount is $250 plus any unpaid fees from previous years (if any). You can mail payment to the indicated post office box or place payment in my mailbox (124 HED Lot 6). Our mailing address is PO Box 72591, Newnan, GA, 30271. You can also pay electronically online with a small convenience fee (click the link below). Payment is due on or before March 1 to avoid a late fee.
